How DoorDash commission works
DoorDash takes a percentage of every order’s subtotal — 15%, 25%, or 30% depending on your marketplace plan (6% for pickup). It comes straight off the top, before your food, labor, and packaging costs. That’s why the plan you choose and your menu pricing matter so much.
payout = order × (1 − commission) · offset = commission ÷ (1 − commission)

Frequently asked questions
How much commission does DoorDash charge restaurants?
DoorDash’s marketplace plans charge 15% (Basic), 25% (Plus), or 30% (Premier) commission on each delivery order. Pickup orders are 6%. Higher tiers buy more visibility and a larger delivery area, not a lower rate.
What is my payout on a DoorDash order?
Your payout is the order subtotal minus DoorDash’s commission. On a $40 order at the 30% Premier rate, DoorDash keeps $12 and you receive $28 — before your own food and packaging costs.
How much should I raise menu prices for DoorDash?
To fully offset the commission, prices need to rise by commission ÷ (1 − commission). At 30% that’s about 43% higher. Many restaurants raise DoorDash menu prices 15–25% as a partial offset — this tool shows the full-offset number.
Are these the current rates?
These are DoorDash’s standard 2026 US marketplace commission tiers. Your effective cost can be higher once promotions and paid placement are added. Confirm in your DoorDash Merchant Portal.
